Carla's Heliconia Garden
Heliconias

NAME

Heliconia stricta (slim red)

subgenus Heliconia

section Heliconia

comment: I am not sure of this ID. Maybe it is not a stricta, but rather a bihai. I don't have any clues from the Costa Rican nursery where I bought it.

PHOTOS

Small, delicate flower compared to other strictas. Maybe I am wrong on the species.

Undulating leaves, like a stricta.

comment: A strong grower; if I didn't have enough room, I would call it somewhat invasive.
